Imperials win finale

The Sarnia Imperials beat the Steel City Patriots 26-0 in their Northern Football Conference regular-season finale Saturday at Norm Perry Memorial Park.

The Imperials finished fourth overall in the NFC standings and second in the West Division with a 5-3 record.

They'll host the Ottawa Invaders in an NFC quarter-final this Saturday. The Invaders (4-4) were third in the East Division.

Bluewater boxers split

POINT EDWARD – Fighters from the host Bluewater Boxing Club split their four bouts at Saturday's show at Point Edward Optimist Hall.

Justine Honsinger won the main event by unanimous decision. The fight was chosen best female bout of the night.

Emma McLaughlin also won by unanimous decision in her amateur boxing debut.

Bluewater's Nolan Evans and Dylan Taylor lost their fights. Taylor's was named best male bout of the night.

Midget Braves win

The host Sarnia Midget Braves won the annual Stan Slack Wood Bat Classic baseball tournament Sunday for the first time.

The Braves beat Springfield (Ohio) 18U in the final of the six-team tournament at Errol Russell Park.

Saints in first place

The Sarnia Saints beat Fergus Highland 59-14 in the Niagara Rugby Union on Saturday.

The Saints are in first place in the men's A1 division with a 7-1 record.

Sarnia FC at home

Sarnia FC will host the Curinga Titans at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at Lambton College in the London & Area Women's Soccer League.

Sarnia FC is 0-11-1 in the Premier Division after losing 2-1 to the Chatham Eagles last Wednesday. Chantal Caraher scored.
