Qatar Touch and the Hurricane Storm Touch Rugby Club (HSTRC) will host the open men’s touch division tournament today at the Iranian School, Abu Hamour.
The Hurricane Storm Touch Rugby club established in 2012 has won several titles in several major tournaments in the past.
The most recent last February, the National Sports Day Beach Challenge held at Katara.
HSTRC in collaboration with Qatar Touch is proud to host the Hurricane Touch Rumble 2017 tournament, a statement said.
Twelve teams representing companies, clubs and schools will converge at the Iranian school grounds with the hope of securing a victory and the championship title. Hurricane Storm TRC president Hans Thomasz said: “Touch is booming in Qatar and its popularity is growing rapidly. Full credit to Qatar Touch for their ongoing support”.
Thomasz continued, “ We are expecting to welcome a huge influx of supporters, families and friends to witness an exciting day of competitive touch rugby; anticipated to be the highest of it’s calibre”.
The one-day event is very popular amongst the Qatar players and this year has attracted major sponsorship from reputable Qatari and international companies such as; Bloomsbury Holiday Resort (Platinum Sponsor), Well On Restaurant (Gold Sponsor), Blue Lake Insurance Brokers (Silver Sponsors), Al-Safa Polyclinic, Puncha’s Rent a Car, Total Sports, McDonald’s and Nice Drinking Water.
