UJ Choir on tour over spring break

Director of choirs Dr. J. Aaron McDermid will take the University of Jamestown Choir on a working vacation over spring break. While most of the campus family will be on spring break starting March 10, the choir and its director will be traveling around the North Dakota and touching into Minnesota and Montana, where they will sing at eight venues before returning to Jamestown for its spring public performance at St. James Basilica on Sunday, March 25, at 2p.m.

They will make stops in Bismarck on March 4 at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 214 E. Thayer Ave. On Friday, March 9, the choir performs for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in South Heart, N.D., at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the 10th, they get to Billings, Mont., where they sing at first United Methodist Church at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, March 11, the choir stops at Beulah, N.D., where at 7:30 p.m. it will sing at Zion Lutheran Church. That Monday, they work their way up to Rugby, N.D., where at 7:30 p.m. they will stop at the First Methodist Church

The choir heads to Minnesota on Tuesday, where at 7:30 that evening in Bemidji, they will sing at the First Lutheran Church on 900 Bemidji Ave, On Thursday, March 15, the choir stops in Brainard at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, where at 7:30 p.m. they will perform, before heading west toward home.

On Friday, March 16, they will at 7:30 p.m., sing in Fargo at Gethsemane Episcopal Cathedral located at 3600 25th St. S.

Classes begin again Monday, and the choir will prepare for its spring gift to its loyal patrons on March 25 at St. James. During the tour all performances are free and open to the public.

Female members of the Jamestown Choir:

Soprano I: Emily Anderson, Meaghan Cronin, Taylor Helgeson, Adrianna Klocke, Brenna LeMier and Liza Ostmo.

Soprano II: Jamie Czapiewski, Maggie Erickson, Emma Iverson, Teresa Horton, Kali Jensen, Mary Joy, Courtney Martinson and Emily Ost.

Alto I: Brita Fagerlund, Carly Fuhrman, Victoria Goodale, Lauren Jankoviak, Elise Opp, Ellen Schnabel and Shaina Schulte.

Alto II: ReeAnn Christianson, Claire LeMier, Courtney Mahlum, Jayci McCrory, Addison Olson and Madeleine Stiles.

The men include:

Tenor I: Shane Chandler, Reuben Johnson and Grant Linde.

Tenor II: Hunter Carpenter, Matthew Heupel, Paul Kurtti, Andy Dalbol and Kyle Glander.

Baritone: Lucas Shirley, Nick Helfrich, Isaac Morse, Benji Miller, David Satrom and Trenton Freitag.

Bass: Hunter Braumberger, Jacob Brownell, Alex Delzer, Drew Topp, Garret Fernandez and Sterling Severson.

Chapel Choir members include:

Soprano I: Addie Hanson, Kali Jenson, Brenna LeMier and Amanda Torgerhagen.

Soprano II: Hannah Ellingson, Brita Fagerlund, Morgan Irlmeier and Sierra McKeever.

Alto I: Alexandra Chapman, Carl Fuhrman, Claire LeMier and Teagan Skunberg.

Alto II: Natalie Anderson, Carly Benjamin, Randi Kleinsasser and Josephine Parsons.
