Contractors on Guam are invited to a free training workshop on the updated Guam Stormwater Management Manual and newly developed Guam Stormwater Drainage Tool.

The Office of the Governor, in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Guam Environmental Protection Agency, and the Bureau of Statistics and Plans are sponsoring the training session on Wednesday.

Led by the engineers corps, this session will provide engineers, architects and site planners with valuable instruction on using the new stormwater calculator, designed to simplify drainage calculations based on site-specific conditions such as soil types, geology, and drainage rates unique to Guam.

“This tool is a game-changer for how we manage runoff and protect our environment,” said Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio. “It not only simplifies the calculation process but also helps ensure projects are designed responsibly and efficiently. We encourage all developers to register, participate, and learn how to better safeguard our natural resources while advancing safe, sustainable development across Guam.”

This training is part of ongoing efforts to modernize Guam’s development review process and enhance resilience to local environmental challenges.

Information was provided in a release from the Office of the Governor of Guam.
