After 10 acts made it through on Tuesday evening and five were sadly sent out of the competition, the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest will continue with the second semi final on Thursday. And, competition looks likely to be even more fierce as the last places in the grand finale are up for grabs.
Whilst, when it comes to Eurovision, a lot of people still only watch the final every year, for 20 years now the number of countries in the contest have whittled down by the semis and, with 37 countries competing in Basel needing to be cut down to 26, 16 artists will take to the stage as millions watch across the globe.
Acts like current favourites to win, KAJ from Sweden, 'dark horses' Albania, fan favourites Poland all make it safely through Eurovision semi final 1, along with a few more surprising qualifiers like Portugal and Iceland. And on Thursday some more of 2025's most talked about entries will be in the spotlight, including Miriana Conte from Malta, Erika Vikman from Finland and Austria's JJ, who is closing in on KAJ in the odds on who will triumph in Saturday's final.
Coverage of semi final 2 will air in the UK on BBC One from 8pm and, unlike Tuesday, viewers in the UK will be able to vote to help determine the 10 finalists who will join the 10 successful acts from Tuesday, the 'big 5' and host nation Switzerland on the line-up. The UK's Remember Monday will actually perform too, as the showcase their song What The Hell Just Happened, which, sadly for them, is the current favourite to finish last.
