No. 1 LSU baseball vs South Carolina: Tigers take rubber match in season finale

The 2025 regular season finale was finally here for LSU baseball and a series win was at stake against South Carolina.
The No. 1 Tigers (42-13, 19-11) dropped game one against the Gamecocks but bounced back in Friday’s game, handling their Southeastern Conference foe with an 8-1 victory. They finished the job on Saturday ending the regular season with a 7-3 victory to snag the series. The deep ball was alive and well with three different Tigers going yard asserting their power over the Gamecocks.
Pitching-wise, Anthony Eyanson got the W on the mound pitching for seven innings before a few other pitchers came in for relief to end the game. Eyanson's shaky start didn’t last for long, limiting the Gamecocks' offense in the middle innings while the Tigers offense heated up.
The Tigers end the regular season on a high note and will look to carry Saturday’s dominance in the upcoming SEC Baseball Championship Tournament.

TOP 7 LSU 5, SC 2: The long ball is alive and well for the Tigers after two balls left the park earlier in the game and Jake Brown decided to join the party. He hit a two-out solo home run to give LSU a three run lead, the largest of the game.
Sixth inning
BOT 6: Since giving up a solo home run in the second inning, Eyanson has been locked in on the mound. He’s got a lot of soft contact and let his defense get to work while also striking out four batters. With over 90 pitches to end the inning he might have one more inning of work left in the tank.

Fourth inning
BOT 4 LSU 1, SC 2: Just when you thought momentum was with the Tigers, South Carolina’s freshman Beau Hollins had other plans. He hit a one out home run to snatch the lead back for the Gamecocks. They got their fourth hit after that as their bats are starting to heat up.
Tigers answer back
TOP 4 LSU 1, SC 1: It was only a matter of time before the Tigers’ power hitter Jared Jones made his presence felt in this game. To lead off the fourth he went yard for his 19th home run of the season to tie this game. A swing like that could get the rest of the Tigers lineup going.
