Danny Cipriani has been binned by England for the autumn internationals - but clubmate Ben Morgan is brought in out of the wilderness.

Gloucester’s high-profile fly-half is the most notable absentee of those fit and available for the 36-man squad.

It was his match-winning assist in England’s last outing which could well have saved Eddie Jones’ job. And he built on that by being named Premiership player of the month for September.

But Cipriani is nowhere to be seen, while Morgan - a stranger to England colours since the 2015 World Cup - is recalled to hell solve the No.8 crisis in the enforced absence of Billy Vunipola, Nathan Hughes and Sam Simmonds.

Jones has hedged his bets on the captaincy by announcing a job share between Owen Farrell and the fit-again Dylan Hartley .

The Australian said: “They have both been excellent captains for England in the past and will provide a powerful leadership base for us on and off the field."

Jones added: “I’m really happy with the squad. We can only control what we can control and injuries have happened.

“It gives an opportunity for some good new players to play some important Tests for England while players who have been in the squad before, will have to take on more responsibility.”

England play South Africa (3 November), New Zealand (10 November), Japan (17 November) and Australia (24 November).
