The Malta rugby national team kicked off their commitments in the Rugby Europe Conference One South in style when they brushed aside Bosnia Herzegovina 52-20 in Zenica.

It was a dominant performance from Damian Neill’s men who recovered from a slow start to completely outclass their opponents.

It was the Bosnians who scored the first try of the match in the opening stages. But that was as good as it got for the hosts.

Gradually, the Maltese seized control and inspired by their strong running they scored six tries without reply to head into the interval with a commanding 40-8 lead.

In the second half, the Maltese tried to administer their advantage but still found time two score two more tries to wrap up a comfortable victory.

Malta will now be back in action on Saturday when they host rivals Croatia at the Hibs Stadium.
