GLENDALE, Colo. — A big second half Saturday pushed the Seattle Seawolves to a 38-24 victory over the San Diego Legion and into the Major League Rugby title game.

The Seawolves advance to the championship against the Glendale (Colo.) Raptors, who posted a 34-21 victory over the Utah Warriors in the second semifinal Saturday.

The title game will be July 7 at 6 p.m. at Torero Stadium in San Diego. These two teams have faced off twice this season, with Glendale winning both. The Raptors topped the Seawolves 19-15 on April 28 in Seattle, and 33-11 in Glendale on June 16.

The semifinal Saturday was tied 10-10 at half and then San Diego went up 17-10.

After that Will Rasileka, Peter Tiberio, Suquoyah Burke-Combs and John Hayden all scored tries to lift Seattle. Peter Smith added two-point kicks after each try.

The rally started when Seattle won a scrum and multiple phases opened up space for Rasileka.

Not long after that, Tiberio put Seattle in the lead with an interception of Dylan Audsley.

After that, the Seawolves got the try on a perfect floater pass from Smith to Burke-Combs.

Seattle’s final score came after Shalom Suniula had a long kick up the field and Hayden spun out of contact to get the try.
